Ubuntu 12.10 doesn't boot after update
I have Ubuntu 12.10 installed on my HP Pavilion m6 (dual boot with Windows Seven). Last time I booted on Ubuntu (2 days ago) I installed an update but I honestly can't quite remember what it was exactly, and now Ubuntu won't boot. Nothing happens after I select Ubuntu on the Grub2 menu, and if I go for the Recovery mode, I get stuck in a loop that says:
udevd[339]: timeout: killing '/sbin/modprobe -bv pci: v00001002d00006840sv0000103Csd000018A5bc03sc00i00' [347]
The numbers 339 and 347 change each time I try again.
I'm actually on Windows Seven and it works just fine, so the problem seems to be exclusively with Ubuntu. Does anyone know why this is happening?
